Review: DCUC Donna Troy
Posted by Lindsay
Donna Troy, aka Wonder Girl, is either Wonder Woman's sister, or adopted sister, or mystically-created younger twin, or something. I know rather little about her, and after reading through some synopses on the internet, I feel like I know even less. She's part of Wave 13, along with Cheetah. Appearance and Construction: 6/10
I'm not too impressed with Miss Troy, I have to say. Her hair is well-sculpted, I'm not a fan of the blue highlighting. Her expression makes her look either bored or drugged. She can't really stand in any position that looks comfortable.
Her costume is fine, if simple. I like her shiny bracelets, but her lasso looks kind of silly and the center of the belt isn't symmetrical. |

Donna has a lot of similar problems to those that Cheetah had. She has most of the standard DCUC articulation, but her hips are terrible, wonky, loose and untrustworthy. They feel fragile, and the limits of motion are inconsistent. She tends to drift out of most non-neutral stances. It's difficult to get her to hold a position, or to balance at all.
Her neck has almost no movement, and there is only limited mobility on some of the other joints. |
Price Tag and Final Analysis: 5/10
I may eventually come around on Donna, I like some of the pictures I got, but getting them was an exercise in frustrating poses.
We picked up Donna with Cheetah for $13 each at K-Mart. This is a great deal for a DC Universe Classics figure, but these two ladies were both fairly poor examples of their line. On the other hand, some of her articulation works, and her basic costume and sculpt is solidly generic. If I get sick of her on the shelf with the Titans, I told Erin that I reserve the right to repaint her into someone else. |
